i.

Section B.

To consist of :

Ex-members, H.K.V.D.C. who, for reasons of their

own, prefer to be allotted a duty under paragraph (2)

below.

ii.

Residents in the Colony who have already received

some form of service training and who, on mobilization,

would normally offer their service to the Colony.

Section B will be administered by a specially

selected Officer with a complement of assisting ranks.

Members of Section B will, in the first instance,

enrol as privates.

Mobilization duties available to Section B.

(Note only an indication of the duty is given).

i. Corps Headquarters

Administration (Recruiting, pay,

drafting, promotion, clothing, equipment &c.)

ii. Coast Watching Observers at selected points on the

ooast-line of the Island and Mainland. Watchers will be

allotted to areas with which they are especially familiar.

iii. Interpreters (Eastern-Asiatic languages) for duty under

Fortress Headquarters.

iv. Intellige nce Department for duty at Fortress Headquarters.

V. Transport Drivers for the two Vans at Corps Headquarters.

(remainder is under o.C., A.S.c. cadre).

ví. Clerical Staff for secret and confidential work.

vii. Garrison Guards.

Applicants for iii (Interpreters) should state

language or languages and qualifications and those for

(iv) (Intelligence) should have an intimate knowledge of

the Island and New Territories and Service Maps
